If you're a Dulwich local you may have noticed the name change for our Houseplant shop on Frogley Road. What was formerly known as the Fresh Flower Workshop has now been re-branded as Forest which has been timed to tie in with the opening of our second brand in Deptford.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with our houseplant shop - welcome to Forest!
When we first opened the workshop in 2014 off Lordship Lane we didn't anticipate quite how popular the houseplant trend would become. As a team we've always enjoyed having plants in our homes and them as styling props for weddings and events so this felt like the natural next step for us.
As the East Dulwich shop has grown, we've enjoyed investing more time in the pursuit of unusual and rare houseplants to fill our shop. And in doing so, we've learnt so much and met many people with the same passion as us.
Soon we found ourselves looking for another site (in particular a larger space to hold our monthly classes as the plants had taken over!) and that's what led us to Deptford (thanks to Sharmin at Brickhouse bakery for pointing us in the right direction).
The Market Yard, located right by Deptford Rail Station, was renovated mid last year and was officially launched in October of 2016. From the beginning when we attended the launch party we knew we wanted to be part of it - the brilliant local businesses, vibrant night life and the forthcoming street food market. And so in April this year we officially opened the doors to our second house plant shop, Forest Deptford!
We have loved sharing both our Lordship Lane and Deptford spaces with you and hope to see you all soon, new faces and old!
